Corporate Social Responsibility is the loyalty of businesses to contribute the sustainable economic growth by working with employees, their families, the local community and the society at large to develop their lives in a way that are good for business and development. Our economy is developing speedily, corporate sector is going globalized and liberalization leading to fabulous change in Industries, Information Technology & Service sector. Accelerating the rural development and making it as fast as in these sectors are neglected. Benefiting to 35% of the total population, already developed and above poverty line cannot be considered as an important yardstick of development. The problem of hunger, ignorance, ill health, high mortality rate and illiteracy are most seen in rural India. Though there is no shortage of supply of material resources, India has potential to meet challenge in rural areas but the shortcoming in our planning systems is the main reason for the affliction of rural people. Moreover the efforts of the government may not be sufficient to offer basic service to its resident. It is being 
internationally felt that progress and development of the society is not only the responsibility of the Government alone, but more stakeholders need to be roped to achieve the development Goal. This conference makes an attempt to explore corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices followed by the corporate houses and its impact on the Rural Development in India.
